about

The decay of a relationship comes in many shapes and forms, and in this particular case, it feels “just like a Sharkbite.” A wound that just won’t close, a hand that can’t seem to let go -- Sedona’s newest single, “Sharkbite,” gives us a grim depiction of the exhaustingly heavy weight that toxic people, habits, and relationships have on the heart. Whether it’s issues between you and yourself, or between you and someone you love, “Sharkbite” is here to hold space for those who find themselves stuck in old habits that no longer serve them.

“Sharkbite” is a warning to those who feel powerless. It’s an attempt to break away from the thoughts, people, and actions that drain the life out of them, out of us. The new single is set for release December 1st and will be accompanied by a music video premiere on December 9th to lead up to Sedona’s upcoming, debut album, Kissing Spree, set to release in Summer 2022.

lyrics

He's drinking more, we're talking less
Same old story, a classic mess
Every evening at around nine, she thinks what life would be like
Without excuses, without these loose ends
Your loneliness is not my problem, it's yours

I don't wanna give up
But you're givin' me hell
Now we're stuck up, all night
Talking circles it never ends

We used to fly high
But lately something's not right, baby
Just like a sharkbite, yeah
You drain my energy
You take it all away

I've got enough on my plate
You've gotta find your own way
Learn to love your sad parts
Before you invite anyone else
To share the bed we're lying in
Your priorities are spilled out on the bathroom floor, spilled out

We used to fly high
But lately something's not right, baby
Just like a sharkbite, yeah
You drain my energy
You take it all away
(Instrumental)

I don't wanna give up
But you're givin' me hell
Now we're stuck up, all night
Talking circles it never ends

We used to fly high
But lately something's not right, baby
Just like a sharkbite, yeah
You drain my energy
You took it all away
